Terms & Conditions
Payment
- All prices shown are in Australian Dollars.
- Payments accepted most credit cards and direct debit, alternately you can contact me via my website to discuss any alternate payment options.
- International customers please note, the final price will be subject to the exchange rate applied by your credit or debit card or payment service company.
Deliveries
- Most items will be posted within 48 hours, Monday to Friday.
- Please feel free to ask before purchase about expected delivery times.
Shipping in Australia
- All orders within Australia are sent via Australia Post using Express Post. This option provides for tracking of items.
- Purchases over $200 are posted free of charge
- Please check the Australia Post website for expected delivery times to your area.
- Megan Dickens Jewellery has no control over postal services and cannot be held responsible for delays or for lost or stolen packages.
International Shipping
- Given the current issues with international posting and delivery times. Please contact me to discuss your delivery
- Please note- International shipments may be subject to import duties and tax levies once the shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance are the responsibility of the recipient; we do not control these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Please contact your local customs office for further information.
- Please keep in mind that postal and customs delays can significantly alter estimated delivery times.
Megan Dickens Jewellery has no control over postal services and customs services and cannot be held responsible for delays or for lost or stolen packages.
Returns
Returns/refunds are generally not accepted due to change of mind.
However, if there is a problem with your purchased product, please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss any issues with your purchase.
The following rules apply to any accepted refunds/exchanges.
- Goods must be returned within 5 business days of receiving your package, using a trackable postage method (Express Post).
- I cannot be responsible for lost, damaged or missing parcels.
- All goods are your responsibility until they reach my return address.
- The merchandise must be in its original/unworn condition.
- Customers will be responsible for all shipping and re-shipping charges for exchanges.
- The refund will be processed within 5 business days of the returned merchandise being received by me. Please note that it may then take 3-5 working days for the refund to reach your account.
- Refunds are not guaranteed until the product is assessed for fault.
- Cash on Delivery returns will not be accepted.
- I advise that you send the merchandise back to me using a method of postage which can be tracked.
- I cannot be responsible for lost, damaged or missing parcels.
- All goods are your responsibility until they reach my return address.
Exchange for size
This may not be available for custom or one-off designs, if possible to do additional fees will apply. Please contact me to discuss your options prior to returning any item.
- Goods must be returned within 5 days of receiving your goods.
- Please note, it may take up to 2 weeks to have a new size made.
- Customers will be responsible for all shipping & re-shipping charges for exchanges.
Repairs
Repairs to any damaged goods are assessed by case and may incur a fee. Please contact me to discuss prior to returning item.
Disclaimer
Each piece is handmade, consequently there may be small variations in some stock items from those pictured.
Chain lengths
Most chains are between 45cm or 42cm in length, but other lengths are available.
Please feel free to request a different length to the one quoted with the product.
Jewellery - Care Instructions
Silver naturally tarnishes with exposure to air and the environment. Contact with perfume, chlorinated/salt water or household cleaning products should be avoided. Silver is a malleable metal; therefore be gentle with earring posts, clasps, chains as they can be bent or break under excessive force. I advise that you keep your jewellery in the box it came in.
Cleaning
Pour a small amount of mild soap into lukewarm water and use a small soft toothbrush to clean your jewellery. My jewellery that has a matte finish is best kept by cleaning with a mild soap and water and then brushing gently with a scrubby pad. Work the pad lightly and gently in a circular motion across the silver.
If your precious metal jewellery is tarnished, use a precious metal polishing cloth to remove it. Using a polishing cloth is the best option for jewellery with delicate stones such as opals, as the cloth will not damage them.
Jewellery dip is also and option, available at the supermarket or hardware store. Jewellery dip is particularly good for chains, but take care not to use dip for pieces that have deliberately oxidised parts, these would be better cleaned with a cloth. Also make sure you follow the directions; jewellery dips can harm delicate stones and pearls.
Avoid storing precious metal jewellery in particular in a humid place – especially the bathroom. Humidity will speed up tarnishing, so it's best avoided. If you live in a humid place, you will need to clean your jewellery more often.
Ideally precious metal jewellery should be stored away from free flowing air. This will also slow down tarnish, plus it will help keep dust at bay. Keep it in a plastic ziplock bag, pouch, small jewellery box or similar if you can.
Your consumer rights...
Megan Dickens Jewellery come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure .
